When Robert first came to the Club 11 years ago, he felt shy and overwhelmed, nervous about making new friends and trying new experiences.

“The moment I first walked into the Boys & Girls Club as a shy first grader, I didn’t know I was stepping into a place that would change my life forever.”

 As Robert continued attending the Club, he began to come out of his shell, build confidence, and feel empowered to be himself. The Club is now a place where he feels safe to learn, grow, and try new opportunities.

 “I say yes to opportunities because I’ve learned that opportunities change you. They shape you into a better version of yourself.”

 Through leadership programs and other experiences at the Club, Robert has become a confident leader who knows he can inspire others and make a difference in his community.

 “The Club didn’t just help me grow; it helped me believe in myself. Because of the Boys & Girls Club, I know that I can achieve anything I set my mind to.”
